  • Thank You!

On behalf of the Social Committee of OBBC we would like to thank the multitude of members and guests who assisted in all aspects of our Memorial Day BBQ.  We would also like to thank the Board members who supported this endeavor.   Special thanks to Board members, Donna Drummond (Treasurer/Social), who spent countless hours coordinating this event; Tom Zich (Trustee), who gave the volunteers what they needed to set up the Bay Beach, and Pat O’Shea (Fundraising) for the hours of work setting up a successful gift auction.

A very special thanks to all our army of volunteers, too numerous to mention by name, who helped to set-up and dismantle tables and chairs, made sure the garbage cans were emptied, and debris was picked up.  Thanks to our grill experts David Boyce, John Kayal, and Steve Polakowski; our behind the scenes helpers Maura Kayal, Andrea Kayal, Lisa D.; our t-shirt saleswomen, Emma and Nicole, for handling the influx of sales. A special thanks to Thomas Lurker and his wife, Jacqui, who were available to photograph families.  We could not have done this without the support of our great community. We hope that our OB3 Members and guests had a memorable time.

    Sincerely- The Social Committee

  • Save Coastal Wildlife Beach Cleanup: What a Success!

We want to thank all who participated in the OB3 Beach Clean Up April 24, 2022, which was a great success!  A special thank you to Joe Reynolds at SaveCoastalWildlife.org and his crew that do great things for our Jersey Beaches as volunteers for this great cause!

Both SaveCoastalWildlife.org and DumptheJunkNJ.com are both promoters of keeping our Beaches Clean and we all gained some valuable information about our beach that day!

…Once we got started with the clean up we could not believe the amount of plastics, like bottle tops, bags, balloons, construction debris, such as house insulation, old wood and so much more, all found on our beach tide shorelines and our front and back dunes was surprising!  The worst areas were the dunes, which were loaded with items that get caught up in our beach fences…. We would like to bring awareness to our community that we all should really be playing a part in helping keep our beach area and neighborhood clean to promote Coastal Wildlife Being Safe from digesting these items along with making our Earth a Happy & Healthy Place!

We collected and removed 20 trash bags of debris and trash in 2 hours!! Check out the Photos page for more pictures from the event.
